An elegant large freestanding valet, showcasing reclaimed timber in a functional piece suitable for an entryway or bedroom.

Creating space to house items and objects needing a place upon entry into a home, from jackets and hats to keys and shoes or for a bedroom suiting a one of a kind clothing station.

Tasmanian Hydrowood Celery Top Pine for the drawer box, 3 lathe turned round “button hooks” and a steam bent back rest/clothes rack. 100+ year old Jarrah planks reclaimed from the base of a South Australian demolished water cooling station make up the seat, legs and upright. This heavy, dense hardwood contrasting with the delicate celery top pine shows their matured, deep tones from both timbers’ uniquely Australian history and now form the seat ready to last another lifetime.

Techniques used include, lathe turning, steam bending, box/drawer making, half lapped joinery, round mortise and tendon joints.
